ENDURE IT SOLVANG CAMP 2012 - ITINERARY


Thursday, March 1: Arrival Day (full week option)
Athletes arrive in Solvang and check in at the Meadowlark Inn.
4pm: Easy hour ride. Goal to spin out the legs after traveling and test out the bikes and make any necessary technical changes. (1 hour/16 miles)
6:15pm: Dinner at the Meadowlark Inn
7pm-8pm: Staff introductions; Participant Introductions; brief discussion concerning the week ahead

Friday, March 2: Jalama Beach Day
7am - 8am: Swim
7:30am-9:15am: Breakfast at the Meadowlark Inn.
8am-9:30am: Bike assistance available
9:45am: Ride briefing
10am: Varying mileage options available, 80mile round trip or 40 mile one way
THEME - CLIMBING
2:30pm-3:30pm: Light lunch available post ride at the Meadowlark Inn!
6pm: Seminar - Technical seminar by David Fix/Erik Walter
7pm: Dinner at the Meadowlark Inn

Saturday, March 3: Aerobic Day! Tour of the Santa Ynez Valley Ride
7:20am: Car pool from Meadowlark Inn to start of run (1.5 miles away). Run Refugio road out and back. 45-60mins
7:30am-9:30am: Breakfast!
9:45am: Ride briefing
10am: Tour of the Valley
THEME - SPINNING/SMALL CHAIN GEAR ONLY. Tour of the Santa Ynez Valley including Happy Canyon! (50 mile option - with the option of a 30 mile loop if preferred)
1:30pm: Light lunch available post ride at the Meadowlark Inn
3:15pm: PART WEEK OPTION ATHLETES ARRIVE - INTRODUCTIONS
3:30pm: Easy hour spin for those just arrived and all those wanting a double ride day. Otherwise recovery time before tomorrow's big ride!
5pm: Nutrition talk with Michael Lovato
5:50pm: Depart for Wine Tasting and dinner

Sunday March 4: Tepusquet/Foxen Canyon Day
7:30am - 8:30am: Swim
7:30am-9:30am: Breakfast at the Meadowlark Inn
9:30am: Ride Briefing
9:45am: Group 2 departs Tepusquet/Foxen Canyon - Some of the best riding in the valley! Foxen Canyon out and back. Ride mileage dependent on group (this ride includes an option to ride Tepusquet Climb - 70 miles round trip from the Meadowlark)
10am: Group 1 departs
THEME - CLIMBING varying mileage options available, 70/80 mile round trip + if desired.
3pm: Light lunch available post ride at the Meadowlark Inn
4pm - 5pm: Stretching/yoga
5pm: Free evening

Monday March 5: Harris Grade/Drum Canyon Day
7:45am: Meet at the Meadowlark ready to depart for Group Breakfast - wear your camp jacket!
8am - 9am: Breakfast in Solvang at the Belgium Cafe Address: 1671 Copenhagen Drive, Solvang 93463. Directions, turn R out of Meadowlark onto HWY 246. At 2nd traffic lights turn L, then take 2nd right onto Copenhagen Dr. The Belgium Cafe s 220ft on right.
9:45am: Ride briefing
10am: Group 1 departs - Harris Grade Loop 65 miles
10:15am: Group 2 departs - Drum Canyon Loop 45 miles
2:45pm: Light lunch available post ride at the Meadowlark Inn!
6pm: Seminar, Michael Lovato: Key elements of a 8/10 week plan leading up to a 70.3/Ironman, David Fix: Key elements of tapering before an event/race
7pm: Dinner at the Meadowlark Inn
8pm: Q and A around camp fire

Tuesday March 6: Fig Day!
7am - 8am: Swim
7:30am - 9:30am: Breakfast at the Meadowlark Inn
9:30am: Ride Briefing
At Meadowlark, hand in transition and run gear to the SAG vehicles for those wishing to make the day a brick session.
The Fig Climb/Brick "An epic climb 9miles at 9%, with a trail run near the top for an extra challenge."
9:45am: Group 1 departs
10:15am: Group 2 departs
THEME - PACING
2:30pm: Light lunch available post ride at the Meadowlark Inn!
4pm: Pack up bikes
6pm: Pre-dinner drinks at the Meadowlark Inn
7pm: Group dinner at a restaurant in Solvang

Wednesday March 7: Departure day
7:30am - 10am: Breakfast at the Meadowlark Inn
