A 5 day camp for both beginners and more seasoned triathletes who would like to focus on improving technique across the triathlon disciplines.

You're ready to take your triathlon training to the next level. At our 5 day triathlon camp our coaches will work with you on improving your swim, bike and run skills to get you ready for your next race. This camp provides a great platform to get you psyched and confident in your triathlon ability, whilst enjoying a training vacation in the stunning Solvang area.

This skills focus camp will include swim video analysis, swim stroke instruction, transition practice, run drills and pacing, tips on being and staying aero on the bike, ascending and descending bike skills, a mini swim/run event, and seminars focused on key training prep, race preparation, and execution. Intertwined within each day you will also get to experience some of the amazing training routes Solvang has to offer.

With catered meals provided, wine tasting and an outdoor movie night, this camp offers the chance for lots of fun and camaraderie in an idyllic part of California, all while you hone your triathlon skills.

Sunday, April 29: Arrival day, Camp starts at 4pm, Swim to include swim video capture, Dinner, Introductions

Monday, April 30: Run drills, Breakfast, Swim video analysis review, Ride - ascending/descending technique focus session 90 mins-2 hour ride options, Seminar strength and core fundamentals, Dinner

Tuesday May 1: Swim - stroke instruction, Breakfast, Seminar, Transition practice, Ride easy spin 90 minutes, Wine tasting, group dinner, outdoor movie night.

Wednesday May 2: Swim/Run mini-event (at pool/track), Breakfast, Seminar, Ride 2 hours - aero technique focus/build intervals, Free night

Thursday May 3: Swim - starts, turns, drafting, Breakfast, Longer ride - 2-3 hour options to include short transition run off bike, Pre-dinner appetizers/drinks, Group Dinner at local restaurant.

Friday May 4: Run 30-90 minute options, distances based on individual athlete needs, Breakfast, camp ends at 10:30am.


This camp is open to both beginner and more seasoned triathletes would like to focus on improving their swim/bike/run technique. At minimum, athletes joining the camp should have one sprint triathlon under their belt. If you have a sporting background in swimming, biking, or running, but have not completed a triathlon, we'd be happy to discuss your participation with you before finalizing your registration, please Email us with information on your sport background/experience.


Either a triathlon or road bike is suitable for this camp. Depending on your riding style, a compact crank-set would be useful, or at minimum a rear cassette with a 25 or 27 tooth cog would be helpful.


The Meadowlark Inn - host hotel is located just 1.75 miles from the center of Solvang. It is positioned near the outdoor pool, track and just 1/3 mile from a quaint grocery store. All camp activities start from this hotel and a nice breakfast is included in the accommodation price!

The inn has a variety of rooms available with a few of each room type. Standard single occupancy rooms start at $95 per night and standard double occupancy rooms (couple rate) at $120. For shared rooms with two beds, rates are $160 per room ($80 per person). There are also suites available with indoor Jacuzzi tubs. All rates include breakfast.

Breakfast: Included with your accommodation at the Meadowlark Inn.

Lunch: We are typically on the road for lunch so leave athletes up to their own devices for this meal. There is a quaint, but fully stocked grocery store open 6am - 10pm every day just a few minutes walk from the Meadowlark Inn in Solvang. The store has a good selection of groceries, wine, a sushi bar, salad bar, deli (where you can have sandwiches made to order at any time of the day) and a coffee bar with wireless internet. There is also a natural food market with a super deli located in the heart of Solvang.

Dinner: Catered dinners each night (with the exception of free night) are all part of the camp fee.

Ride Food: Training nutrition and hydration provided by our sponsors and an array of real food snacks will be available throughout each training session.


Nearest Airports: Solvang is located just a 30 minute drive from Santa Barbara Airport or a 2 hour/2 hour 30 minute drive from Los Angeles/LAX

Airport Shuttles: Our camp staff operate airport shuttles from Santa Barbara Airport to Solvang and return. The airport shuttles we offer need to be booked 2 weeks in advance and are available at the following times:

Sunday April 29 - airport shuttle pick up at SBA: 1pm

Friday May 4: Departing Solvang at 11am, 1pm

(Allow 40 mins for the drive from Solvang to SBA and 75 minutes for check in at SBA (it is a very small airport!).

RoadRunner Shuttle from Santa Barbara Airport to and from Solvang: There is a commercial shuttle tat runs from Santa Barbara Airport to and from Solvang, for details and to make a reservation:

Central Coast Shuttle: There is a bus that goes from Los Angeles Airport (LAX) to Buellton which is a town just 5 miles from Solvang. The cost is $70 one way or $128 round trip (pre-paid) plus $20 for your boxed bike. Details: Central Coast Shuttle. If you take the bus, let us know what time you are going to arrive in Buellton, and we will pick you up at the Buellton bus station.

Rental car or not? Typically about half of the athletes at our camps have a car, but it is not necessary. The camp will provide transport where needed to activities off site and airport shuttles are available to and from Santa Barbara airport.

Build/Pack Option Dr J's Bicycle Shop, our local bike shop in Solvang, offers a build/pack option for our camp athletes for $100. So, you ship your bike to Dr J’s, they unpack and build it up for you pre-camp. You then collect it once you arrive in town (we can assist). Then post camp you return your bike to Dr J’s, they pack it up for you, and ship it to your home. (Note return shipping is additional). We love our alumni athletes and appreciate the word of mouth referrals so we wanted to say a small thank you. If you refer a new camp athlete to one of our Spring camps, we will give you a $100 discount off your 2018 camp and also give your friend a $100 discount on their registration fee! Just be sure to have your friend write your name in the 'referred by' box on the camp registration form!


Full payment (with the exception of $100 non-refundable fee) is refundable for withdrawals up until March 4, 2018. For withdrawals between March 4, 2018 and April 15, 2018, 50% of your full payment is refundable. For withdrawals on or after April 15, there is no refund available. If we (Solvang Triathlon Camps) have to cancel a camp for any reason, we will refund you the full amount of your camp fee within 30 days of the cancellation of the camp. We cannot however be responsible for expenses incurred with airline tickets or any travel arrangements.
