Camp Overview
Now in its seventeenth year, the goal of this camp is to jump-start your winter training in all disciplines, meet athletes from all over, and enjoy the coaching and seminars led by our professional staff.
A six-day camp for Ironman, 70.3, and Olympic Distance athletes looking for a fully supported big mileage week. This camp is not limited to triathletes; the cycling is spectacular and a big part of the itinerary, so cyclists are also very welcome.
It's a week devoted to training, recovery, coached swim, run and cycling sessions, catered evening meals, and camaraderie.

We love our alumni athletes and appreciate the word of mouth referrals so we wanted to say a small thank you. If you refer a new camp athlete to on of our camps, we will give you a $50 discount off your 2022 camp and also give your friend a $50 discount on their registration fee! Accommodation
Host Hotel: The M Solvang www.themsolvang.com
The M Solvang hotel is located on the edge of Solvang town center, one or two blocks from coffee shops and restaurants, and three blocks from our local bike shop. Most camp activities start from this hotel.
The inn has a variety of rooms available. For the camp week, standard queen rooms are $129 per night, and King suites (with additional sleeper sofa option in living area if you would like to share) and a double room with two queens are $179 per night.

Meals
Breakfast: Two group breakfasts are included in your camp fee. For the other camp mornings, there is a host of breakfast eateries within a block or two of our host hotel.
Lunch: We are typically on the road for lunch so leave athletes up to their own devices for this meal. Solvang offers many eateries and New Frontiers natural marketplace is a half-mile from our host hotel. This food market offers a good selection of healthy groceries, a salad bar, noodle bowls, a deli (where you can have sandwiches made to order at any time of the day), and a coffee/smoothie bar.
Dinner: Catered dinners each night (with the exception of free night) are all part of the camp fee. We can cater to most dietary requirements; please inquire if you have questions.
Ride Food: Training nutrition and hydration provided by our sponsors and an array of real food snacks will be available throughout each training session.
Travel to Solvang
Nearest Airport: Solvang is just a 35-minute drive from Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) or a two- to-two-and-a-half-hour drive from Los Angeles/LAX.
Airport transfer from Santa Barbara Airport: Our camp operates airport shuttles from and to Santa Barbara Airport. Please book your spot three weeks in advance via email. Our shuttles are available at the following times:
Arrival from SBA to Solvang:
Monday March 14: Pick up at SBA: 12:30pm, 1pm
Departure from Solvang to SBA:
Sunday March 20: Departing Solvang at 11am, Noon
(Allow 40 mins for the drive from Solvang to SBA and 75 minutes for check in at SBA (it is a very small airport!).
Roadrunner Shuttle from SBA to Solvang: There is a commercial shuttle that runs from Santa Barbara Airport to and from Solvang, for details and to make a reservation:

Central Coast Shuttle from LAX/Solvang: There is a bus that goes from Los Angeles Airport (LAX) to Buellton, which is a town just three miles from Solvang. The cost is $70 one way or $128 round trip (pre-paid), plus $20 for your boxed bike. Details: Central Coast Shuttle. If you take the bus, let us know what time you are going to arrive in Buellton, and we will pick you up at the Buellton bus station.
Rental Car or Not? Historically about half of the athletes at this camp have a car, but it is not necessary. The camp will provide transport where needed to activities off site and airport shuttles are available to and from Santa Barbara airport.

Build/Pack Option
Dr J's Bicycle Shop, our local bike shop in Solvang, offers a build/pack option for our camp athletes for $140 (for a bike in a bag) or $180 (for a bike in a box). So, you ship your bike to Dr J's, they unpack and build it up for you pre-camp. You then collect it once you arrive in town (we can assist). Then after camp, you return your bike to Dr J's, they pack it up for you, and ship it to your home. (Note return shipping is additional). Cancellation Policy
Full payment (with the exception of your $100 non-refundable deposit) is refundable for withdrawals up until January 24, 2022. For withdrawals after January 24, 2022 but before February 21, 2022, 50% of your full payment is refundable. For withdrawals on or after February 21, refunds are unavailable. If Solvang Triathlon Camps must cancel a camp for any reason, we will refund you the full amount of your camp fee including your deposit, within thirty days of the cancellation of the camp. Solvang Triathlon Camps cannot however be responsible for expenses incurred with airline tickets or any travel arrangements.
CANCELLATION POLICIES SPECIFIC TO COVID-19:
If in the 72 hours prior to your camp you have a COVID-19 positive test, or are restricted in travel due to needing to self-isolate due to exposure to COVID-19, or are restricted due to a travel ban implemented due to COVID-19, then we can for reasons specific to COVID-19 offer a full refund or roll over your camp fee to a future camp.
